Who We Are

December 2010 saw Mark Maguire along with his Wife Julie and two daughters relocate back to Anglesey complete with the Horses.
Prior to moving back to Anglesey the horses were shown from Nantwich in Cheshire.  The move to Anglesey presented new opportunities and challenges.
Mark’s family have long been associated with Horses.  His Father was a successful producer of young show jumping horses a number of whom went onto to International stardom and Olympics for a number of different nations.  His brother represented Great Britain on number of occasions in Junior, Young Rider and Senior Nations Cup Teams.  Jimmy, Mark’s father is now largely associated with the Cushionbed Scope BSJA Festival of Showjumping held in August at Stafford County Show Ground.
The attraction into Showing starting in 2005 for Mark following a lameness of a horse.  Julie suggested to Mark that he should buy himself a new horse and follow what his dream of Working Hunters.  The search then commenced for a Working Hunter horse.
The Horse was found in the shape of Chicago II.  A winner of a number of Novice and Amateur Titles in 2004.  Having purchased “Spot” as he was affectionately known, Mark attended his first County Show ever and Royal International Horse Show (RIHS) Qualifying Event.  The only problem was that Mark had never walked a RIHS Working Hunter Course! Following a quick word with the Show Secretary “Spot” was transferred from the Working Hunter to the Show Hunter RIHS qualifying Round.  Now, neither Mark nor Spot had ever competed in a Show Hunter Class let alone a RIHS qualifier.  The result – a Win at their first attempt!!
Mark and Spot went onto qualify for the Horse of the Year Show in the SEIB Search for a Star Series finishing third in the Final in 2005.
Mark and Spot went onto numerous wins and Placing throughout 2005/6.

Other County Standard Show horses included
Rosconnael Mr Osbourne – (front Cover) Heavyweight Show Hunter (massive 18.1hh 10” bone and weighed 1 tonne).  Numerous wins and placing including RIHS, Championships including Bakewell Show 2007.  Supberb true example of a Heavyweight Show Hunter.  Consistently qualified for the Horse of the Year Show with Mark.
